Distribution - 5 first rallies in each set

This spreadsheet allows us to analyze each set’s first five rallies after positive reception. We can see the setter’s distribution at the beginning of each set. We can filter the game by lost and won sets to analyze how the setter’s behavior depends on the score of the previous set. If and does it change after losing? There is also a setter’s filter there, so we can choose which player we want to analyze.

This information can be used to give better advice to our blockers and prepare the team for what to expect at the beginning of the following set. It can give an advantage to your team because it gives them a better knowledge of the opponent’s tactics. You can analyze up to 15 games here, so you can look through a lot of data.

Here, we can see that, for example, if the team won the first or second set, most balls after positive reception at the beginning of the following set were attacked by middles, and the rest was equally divided into left and right sides. However, if they lost the first or the second set, they hardly ever started the next set by playing with the opposite. Most of the balls were set to zones 3 and 4.

The number of analyzed data also depends on how many positive receptions the team had in the particular set and how many sets or games fulfilled the conditions we set.
